Hallo,

leider funktionieren bei mir die USB 3 Ports nicht.
Alles was an USB2 gehängt wird erkennt  Linux sofort, bei USB 3 passiert gar nichts. :(
Unter Windows 7 läuft alles.

MB: Gigabyte GA-970
Linux Mint 20 Cinnamon

Erkannt ja, es wird aber kein Treibermodul geladen. Möglicherweise ein Bug/Fehler. Was zeigt;
dmesg | grep -i xhci
modprobe -c | grep -i "13d3.*3247"
Teste mal folgende Bootoption:
sudo sed -i 's/GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX=""/GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="iommu=soft"/g' /etc/default/grub
sudo update-grub
Neustart (bekanntes Problem mit dem I/O Memory Management bei AM3/4 Boards) und im BIOS/UEFI die Option "IOMMU" deaktivieren.

Nach Deiner Anleitung wird der Stick am USB3 Port sofort gemountet, jedoch erzeugt die externe WD MyPassport HDD jetzt einen Fehler und kann nicht gemountet werden - weder USB3 noch USB2.

IOMMU ist im BIOS deaktiviert.

Das ist ja zumindest schon mal gut (ein Fortschritt), soweit. Bitte noch die Abfragen zur Kontrolle.
modprobe -c | grep -i "13d3.*3247"
lsusb
Dann im Terminal USB/UDEV-Monitoring aktivieren:
udevadm monitorTerminalfenster geöffnet lassen und beobachten. Dann die Festplatte anschließen.  Mit Strg+C nach Ende des Vorgangs abbrechen und die Ausgabe hier zeigen.
Probeweise IOMMU im BIOS zuvor wieder aktivieren.

Da fehlt noch etwas bei der Ausgabe, für mich sieht es jetzt aber so aus, als würde die Platte wieder als sdd1 gemounted, oder doch nicht? Auch wieder an USB 2.x testen.
USB 3.0 ist jetzt aber vorhanden, nur ein WLAN-USB-Treiber (rt2800usb) wurde zugewiesen. Das kann nicht korrekt sein. Diesen mal sperren:

WLAN USB-Treiber wurde gesperrt und die Platte nochmal am USB2 Port angeschlossen - leider wieder fehlgeschlagen.

Unter Win 7 funktioniert die Platte? Wenn ja, mal über den Dateimanager prüfen/reparieren lassen und dann wieder unter Linux probieren.
