Hallo in die Runde,

bis vor ein paar Tagen hatte mit Mint 17 eine Netgear USB-Stick per NDISWRAPPER am laufen, funktionierte tadellos. Plötzlich kam ich nicht mehr ins Netz, trotz richtigem Passwort behauptete WICD falsches Passwort. Unter Windows funktioniert der Stick weiter, am Stick kann es also nicht liegen.
Nun probiere ich es mit einem WLAN Adapter Logilink WL0084. Läuft unter Windows, in MINT kriege ich ihn nicht zum laufen

Hallo,
da hast Du dich irgendwie völlig vertan.
* der Logilink-Stick wird seit Jahren durch das Kernelmodul rt2800usb unterstützt, welches ja auch geladen wird - Schnittstelle ist initialisiert
* ndiswrapper unterstützt keine n-Modus Geräte, bzw. nur b/g-Übertragungsmodus
* der genannte Netgear-Adapter ist unter Linux sowieso kritisch und funktioniert nur sehr eingeschränkt, Probleme gibt es u.a. mit  der Verschlüsselung
* zudem hast Du einen Broadcom Windows-Treiber installiert, welcher hier sowieso nicht zum Logilink Adapter passt → vollständig entfernen

Der Logilink-Stick funktioniert, Du meinst wahrscheinlich, dass Du keine Verbindung zum gewünschten Accesspoint aufgebaut bekommst. Grundsätzlich würde ich diesen verwenden. Allerdings ist Mint 17 alt, die verwendete Kernel und Firmwareversion v0.29 unterstützt den Stick ggf. nur unzureichend.

Nachdem Du den Windows-Treiber komplett entfernt hast, versuche einen Verbindungsaufbau und zeige anschließend folgende Ausgaben:
nmcli dev wifi list
# wg. wicd möglicherweise keine Ausgabe
sudo iwlist wlx7cdd907b5fb3 scan | egrep -i 'cell|chan|essid|wpa|cipher|qual'
# markiere dein eigenes Netz/Cell

danke für die Antwort, ich probiers gleich aus. Muß aber vorher noch Frahen (bitte nicht lachen): Wie entferne ich den alten Windows-Treiber der mit NDISWRAPPER benutzt wird? Wo liegen den die TReiber bei Mint? Muß ich auch NDISWRAPPER entfernen?

der Empfang funktioniert doch. Dein Netz dürfte "FRITZ!Box 7490" sein (SSID ist noch Werkseinstellung)? Vermutlich musst Du in WICD noch das WLAN-Interface in den Einstellungen anpassen.

Ndiswrapper Treiber entfernen.
sudo ndiswrapper -r [Treibername]Oder auch automatisch und komplett
sudo ndiswrapper -r $(ndiswrapper -l | awk {'print $1'})
sudo rm /etc/modprobe.d/ndiswrapper.conf

die LED vom Logilink leuchtet nicht, die WICD-Maske bleibt leer. WICD findet nicht ein Netz, gar nichts. So kann ich in WICD auch keine Einstellungen setzen.
Kann man die Einstellungen auf der Konsole setzen?

Wenn das Interface nicht eingetragen ist, bzw. noch auf wlan0 eingestellt ist, kein Wunder.

Einstellungen in WICD kannst Du immer ändern. Einstellungen in der oberen Menüleiste anklicken. Möglicherweise ist der Button nicht sichtbar, dann musst Du die Menüerweiterung aufklappen oder das Fenster weiter aufziehen.

ich habe das Interface von WICD auf wlx7cdd907b5fb3 statt wlan0 gesetzt, WICD findet trotzdem kein Netzwerk. Bin schon etwas verzweifelt

Problem gelöst, Logilink geht. Nach dem ändern des Interfaces in WICD Reboot und nun läuft der Logilink. Vielen vielen Dank für deine Hilfe und deine Geduld

Wicd kommt wahrscheinlich mit den neuen langen Interfacenamen nicht zurecht. Ändere die Systemeinstellungen wieder auf die alte Namenskonvention um:
sudo sed -i 's/GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX=""/GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="net.ifnames=0 biosdevname=0"/g' /etc/default/grub
sudo update-grub
Neustart und abfragen:
ifconfig -aName (wlanX) in Wicd eintragen.

Hat sich erledigt.  „gelöst“  musst Du im Anfangspost aber noch setzen.
